C-130B (Testors 1/72)68 viewsTestors 1/72 scale DC-130 kit - a relic from Phil "Bondo" Brandt's collection - modified as best I could.
This is tail number 971 with the 924th Tactical Airlift Group, dedicated to the City of Austin, and based at Bergstrom AFB in September 1977. Thanks, Milton Bell, for the great reference photos.

Ersatz M-10 (Tamiya 1/35 Panther G kit with Czech Masters Conversion Set)68 viewsThis is one of ten Panther G’s that were modified to look like American M-10 tank destroyers as part of Operation “Greif”, which was a German false flag operation designed to take the Meuse river bridges during the Battle of the Bulge in late 1944.
The base model is the 1/35 Tamiya Panther G kit, but it has a metal barrel, a resin M-10 conversion set from Czech Masters, single link plastic tracks from Model Kasten and some PE grills from Eduard. All of this came out of the collection of Patrick Rourke who, sadly, passed earlier this year. I added the second crewman from another Tamiya kit. Also added some Bachmann trees to the scene.
